These nominees are pastry chefs who prepare desserts and pastries and demonstrate a high standard of excellence and culinary artistry. Theses nominees serve as inspirations to

other food professionals. They must have been a pastry chef for five years with

a minimum of two years in Maryland by January 1, 2007.

~ Chef Warren Brown ~  

Warren Brown is the host of Sugar Rush on The Food Network and the owner of CakeLove and Love Café. Mr. Brown loves working in the kitchen and developing new products that are sold through his bakery and café.

In 2000 Mr. Brown left his career as a lawyer litigating health care fraud on behalf of the federal government to pursue his dream and start a business. Sensing that people wanted better cake, he founded CakeLove in 2002. With a lot of hard work, positive word-of-mouth advertising, and direct marketing, Mr. Brown has grown his business from a moonlighting project into a thriving retail business. In 2006 he was recognized for his entrepreneurial passion by the Small Business administration and given the Small Business Person of the Year award for Washington, DC. In 2005 and 2006 his bakery CakeLove won the best bakery category in the Washington Post’s Best Bets
