This annual award acknowledges successful restaurant owner(s) who show originality, quality, and superior service in all aspects of their business. The Restaurateur of the Year is recognized by his/her peers, employees and the community for their contributions to the Hospitality Industry and who, by their actions, brings honor to the profession.

~ Mary Ann Cricchio, FMP ~  

Mary Ann Cricchio is owner/operator of the fine dining Italian restaurant Da Mimmo, located in Little Italy, Baltimore. Renowned for its cuisine, the restaurant is a dining spot for many celebrities, especially those of Italian background.

Author of The Owner’s Wife, Mary Ann has spearheaded activity to promote development and marketing of the community. A leader of the Little Italy Restaurant Association and the Restaurant Association of Maryland, she was elected to the board of the National Restaurant Association.

In her position as chair of the NRA’s International Relations Committee, in 2006 Mrs. Cricchio represented the NRA at the China Hotel Association’s Culinary Exposition where she addressed assemblies on US food trends and development opportunities. Mrs. Cricchio has served on the state Governor’s WorkForce Investment Board, chaired the Governor’s Board of Tourism and the Baltimore Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, and served on the Baltimore Mayor’s Bicentennial Committee and its Night Life Task Force supporting the vitality of our state.
