This award recognizes Hot New RAM Member Restaurants that have opened in Maryland between January 2007 and January 2009 (formerly the Maryland Diner’s Choice Award).

With views overlooking the storied Potomac River, Old Hickory Steakhouse – Gaylord Hotels' signature restaurant – features a stylish and contemporary design modeled after the interior of an elegant 18th century Georgian row house. It’s a stunning setting that transport visitors to a different place and time, with a view that can only be described as awe-inspiring.

The refined and comfortable surroundings of Old Hickory are accentuated by classic designs that impart a residential feeling. The setting includes an intimate lounge and private wine-cellar room showcasing a collection of 130 award-winning wines from around the world.

Executive Chef Wolfgang Birk has created a menu that captivates the senses and brings the unexpected to a steakhouse. Of course, the menu features hearty cuts of grain-fed Midwestern Black Angus beef served with traditional side dishes like garlic mashed potatoes and roasted asparagus, but the European-trained Birk pushes Old Hickory to the next level.
