Brice and Shirley Phillips were born on Hoopers Island in the Chesapeake Bay off Maryland’s Eastern Shore. The Phillips family started in the
seafood business in 1916 with the
A.E. Phillips & Son processing plant. In 1956, Brice and Shirley, along with their sons Steve and Jeff, opened a small carry-out restaurant in Ocean City, Maryland as a way of selling the excess crabs from the family
crab plant.
Business boomed, the carryout evolved into a two-story restaurant seating 1400. One restaurant has grown into a vast network of
restaurants in the past 50 years and they have succeeded by holding true to the following simple principles; serve the freshest, finest seafood
available, provide outstanding service & create a memorable dining
experience for their hundreds of
thousands of guests. Today, the
Phillips family operates eight high-volume restaurants across the Eastern United States: in Ocean City,
Baltimore and Annapolis, MD;
Washington, DC; Myrtle Beach, SC; and Atlantic City, NJ.
