This award recognizes Hot New RAM Member Restaurants that have opened in Maryland between Jan. 2005 and Jan. 2007. (formerly the Maryland Diner’s Choice Award).

Red Sky Steak & Fish House, located in Laurel, Maryland, opened in April of 2006. It is the latest restaurant to be opened by entrepreneurs Harvey Blonder and son, Kevin Blonder.

The edgy, upscale dining spot follows the success of Buddy’s Crabs & Ribs in downtown Annapolis, Yellowfin Steak & Fish House in Annapolis, and The Big Fish Grille in Crofton. General Manager, Bruce Hicks, guided both design and construction of the restaurant from front to back- a talent he shared in the previous restaurant creations. Dramatic red sails, suspended from the ceiling and trendy chic decor, couple with the finest food to bring a new level of dining to the Laurel area.

Both Blonder and Hicks attribute the success of the establishment to good management, quality food, a strong staff, and great service. They further note, “We are always striving to grow and improve. We like what we do, and I guess it shows!”
