Jerren Wetterau worked at The
Granary Restaurant for extra income as a server while she was teaching elementary school. She met her
husband, Bruce, when he came to work at The Granary as a line cook. After work, they used to sit and talk about what they would do with The Granary if they were the owners.
A few years later, they were married
at The Granary on a boat, at sunset,
on the Sassafras River. Not long
afterwards, their boss sold the
business and they returned to Delaware
to continue working
for him.
Five years later, The Granary was again for sale. This time they left their employment in Delaware and returned to the Eastern Shore as owners of the place where they met. They have taken the opportunity to make The Granary a place where you can get a great meal out, but feel like you are at home. Bruce can cook,
Jerren can talk, and the rest is history.
