Workforce Development
RAMEF provides opportunities for young people to pursue careers in hospitality.
Workforce Development programs include:
- ProStart® – ProStart is a nationwide, two-year high school program that unites the classroom and industry to develop the best and brightest talent into tomorrow's restaurant and foodservice leaders. The Maryland ProStart Student Invitational (MPSI) is a state-wide team culinary and management competition where students compete for scholarships and the right to represent the state of Maryland at the national competition.
- Mentor and Guest Speaker programs – Industry professionals work with high schools students and teachers to encourage them and give them the “real world” perspective of the foodservice and hospitality industry.
- Industry Awareness campaigns - Educating parents, teachers and other school administrators about the multitude of opportunities in the hospitality industry.
